Interdisciplinary Research Leader bridging Chemical Engineering, Bioprocessing, and Digital Manufacturing.
I am dedicated to pioneering interdisciplinary engineering solutions that address the global challenges of the Circular Economy and Sustainable Healthcare. By integrating fundamental science with advanced additive manufacturing and bioprocessing, I aim to design "smart" materials and automated systems that minimize waste and maximize functional performance.
Strategic Research Pillars: My work is built upon three foundational pillars of innovation: Sustainable Biomanufacturing: Leveraging enzyme immobilization and continuous-flow microreactors to replace traditional, waste-heavy chemical synthesis with green, high-value molecular production.Digital Materials Design: Using Machine Learning (ML) to decode the complex relationship between material formulation—such as battery electrodes or food inks—and manufacturing outcomes, moving toward "First-Time-Right" production.Precision Bio-Interfaces: Developing microfluidic and 3D-printed platforms to study and control biological interfaces, ranging from cancer combination therapies to infant gut health.
Impact and Collaboration: I am committed to a "Lab-to-Society" approach, as evidenced by my leadership in industrial consortia and my active roles in professional bodies, including the Royal Society of Chemistry. My goal is to lead a world-class research group that not only publishes high-impact science but also mentors the next generation of diverse STEMM leaders.
I am happy to help and advise in my area of expertise.
